Kevin Hart, founder and CEO of Green Check Verified, told Benzinga exciting news from the Spring 2024 Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference in Hollywood, FL. Hart revealed how his team secured over $100 million in financing requests and announced a major partnership with Brinks. Additionally, he introduced a new collaboration with Coda Capital, highlighting Green Check Verified’s role in connecting cannabis businesses with essential financial services.
A Surge of Interest and Positive Meetings
Reflecting on the conference, Hart noted the overwhelming interest in Green Check Verified. “While at Benzinga, my/our dance card was overflowing with positive meetings and discussions,” he said. This surge in interest was driven by new and existing connections seeking financing, with total requests surpassing $100 million.
One major highlight was the announcement of a partnership with Brinks. “Aside from the Brinks announcement, thanks for the extra spotlight there, we were pulled on multiple times from quite a few ‘new’ to Green Check names looking for financing,” Hart said.
Connecting Financial Requests Onsite
A vital outcome of the conference was the swift action taken to connect new financing requests with financial institutions (FIs). Hart explained, “We were able to gather information and then connect these requests right there onsite with some of the FIs that were there, Valley, Ameris, and even one non-Green Check bank for next steps.” This approach facilitated immediate follow-ups and potential financing solutions for numerous businesses.
New Collaboration with Coda Capital
During the conference, Hart also introduced a new partnership with Coda Capital. “We also put these folks in front of Coda Capital, who we have launched a partnership with where Green Check FIs can participate in lending with first-position protection with Coda in new loan pooling,” he said.
This partnership offers Green Check’s FIs a secure investment opportunity with first-position protection, minimizing risk while ensuring visibility through Green Check’s compliance services.
